Stefan Kitai

Stefan is a classically trained musician with a wide range of skills and experience. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Toronto, he took two years to study keyboard percussion privately with renowned soloist She-e Wu in New York.
Stefan participated in several international competitions in Germany, Austria and California where he advanced to the top 15 players from around the world. After this, he completed his master’s degree at McGill University and began a freelance career in the Toronto Area. During this time, he began intensive music theory, composition and orchestration lessons with U of T professor Alexander Rapoport. Stefan also studied film music and recording techniques at Sheridan College. He currently plays percussion with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a music teacher Stefan offers a wide range of lessons. He teaches piano and keyboard skills, music theory, percussion and drum set and composition. His students have gone on to be music majors at top Canadian Universities, win competitions, have aced their theory exams and become professional pop music producers.
