The HSSM Orchestras

The HSSM Orchestra is a supplemental program offered to all students in the school when they reach a certain playing level. Orchestra is intended to develop reading skills, listening skills, and teach the fundamentals of playing in an orchestra.

We offer two Orchestra levels: Junior and Senior.

HSSM students are recommended to the Orchestra by their teachers. Students not taking lessons at HSSM are welcome to join the orchestra, and must audition in-person or virtually to be accepted. 

All Orchestra students are required to have a questionnaire completed by their instrumental teacher, to assist the conductor with placement and repertoire selection.
