HSSM celebrates 50 years – Thank you to everyone who joined our celebration

April 26, 2017

A very big thank you to HSSM members past and present and members of the community who joined us on Saturday, September 23, 2017 to celebrate 50 years of Suzuki instruction in Hamilton. It was a wonderful afternoon for sharing memories. In the evening 20 current young HSSM students gave a pop up performance at FirstOntario Place prior to the HPO concert. We thank these students and their parents immensely for their time, dedication and belief in the Suzuki approach.

In 1967,as a centennial project of the Women’s committee of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Suzuki teachers were brought to Hamilton to train teachers in the Suzuki approach. Fifty years later the programme is still going strong. We are celebrating by planning 50 community concerts. Please help us reach our goal. Students you can help by offering to play at a community event. Our Suzuki family, friends and the general public can help by inviting us to play at a community event. Working together we shall achieve this goal in 2017
